Christa Lorenz ALS Research Prize 2017

The renowned Christa Lorenz ALS Research Prize for outstanding scientific achievement in the field of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) was awarded for the sixth time on 13 December 2017 in Magdeburg.

Assistant Professor Dr. med. Joachim Wolf, head of the Department of Neurology at the Diakonissenkrankenhaus in Mannheim was presented with the 2017 Christa Lorenz ALS Research Prize for his outstanding original scientific work on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) as part of a Grand Round event held at the University’s Department of Neurology in Magdeburg. For his keynote lecture, the award winner chose the title “Epidemiology of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in Germany - findings from the Rhineland Palatinate ALS register - structural and functional changes in the brain resulting from ALS”.
