We are pleased to announce that the University Children's Hospital and the University Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Magdeburg will establish a federal Comprehensive Care Centre for children with post-COVID and similar post-acute infection and vaccination syndromes for Saxony-Anhalt.

The UMMD supports the new position paper on improving emergency and disaster care in the German healthcare system. Prof Dr Felix Walcher, former Director of the Department of Trauma Surgery at Magdeburg University Hospital and Past President of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (DIVI), played a leading role in the development of this important strategy paper.

The analysis of routine blood tests from 64 studies involving over 42,000 people, led by a research team from Magdeburg University Hospital, confirms the importance of inflammatory processes for the disease.
