According to the American weekly Newsweek and the data portal Statista, the Orthopaedic University Hospital Magdeburg is one of the world's best orthopaedic hospitals, ranking 121st worldwide.

The Medical Faculty of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg annually awards the best subjects in the following three categories: "Best Preclinical Subject", "Best Clinical-Theoretical Subject" and "Best Clinical-Practical Subject".

For the first time, a cancer immunotherapy was successfully used to treat the previously incurable autoimmune disease lupus with the participation of a Magdeburg scientist.
