A wide range of chronic and acute injuries and diseases are treated at the University Hospital for Orthopedics. In addition to the classic orthopedic clinical pictures, one of the main focuses is on the care of sports orthopedic / traumatological clinical pictures. In sports medicine, we treat sports injuries and help athletes get moving again quickly. Sports medicine examinations and performance diagnostics are also part of our services.
From Acute Care to Rehabilitation
In the event of injury, misuse or overuse, the holistic care of professional or amateur athletes is essential. In the Department of Sports Medicine at the Orthopaedic University Hospital Magdeburg, we therefore focus on interdisciplinary care. We accompany our patients from acute care to the "Return-to-Play" test, also called "Return-to-Competition" test.
Within this framework, the Department of Sports Medicine offers a wide range of surgical treatments, such as.:
The Knee Joints
- Anterior and posterior cruciate ligament injury
