First interdisciplinary health forum in Schönebeck
Forum brings together stakeholders from the healthcare sector to discuss joint solutions for better healthcare in a region.
How can stakeholders from different areas of the healthcare sector work together to optimize patient care in their region? This question is the focus of the first interdisciplinary healthcare forum, which will take place on February 5, 2025 in the Schönebeck (Elbe) region and is to be extended to other regions in the future. Organized by the Department of General Practice Education and Training in Regional General Practice (HAWIRA) at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, the event offers a platform for interdisciplinary exchange, networking and new impetus for improving regional care structures.
- What: 1st Interdisciplinary Health Forum in Schönebeck
- When: Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Where: Seniorenresidenz “Vier Jahreszeiten” Paul-Illhardt-Straße 6, 39128 in Schönebeck (Elbe), interested parties and media representatives are requested to register in advance by February 2, 2025 at HAWIRA@med.ovgu.de.
The great interest in the event is already evident: Over 40 participants from the fields of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, counseling and medical care, among others, have registered. The aim of the forum is to develop concrete approaches through targeted exchange on how regional healthcare can be made more sustainable, effective and patient-oriented. The focus will be on how resources can be used more efficiently and how new ideas can be put into practice.
Another focus is on networking between the participants. The forum creates space for dialog and cooperation in order to initiate new partnerships and collaborations that contribute to improving care in the region in the long term. The aim is also to develop a better understanding of the challenges faced by the various disciplines in order to promote cooperation across disciplinary boundaries.
The HAWIRA department was founded in 2020 and is part of the Faculty of Medicine at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. It is dedicated to the training and further education of GPs and the practical supervision of innovative teaching projects such as the “GP class” and the PeerVax vaccination seminar. Under the academic direction of Prof. Thomas Lichte and the organizational management of Robin John, HAWIRA contributes to strengthening medical care, especially in rural regions.
