Future-proof care: University Medicine Magdeburg and Johanniter Hospital Stendal launch a strategic partnership
Magdeburg/Stendal - Two strong partners for better healthcare: University Medicine Magdeburg and Johanniter Hospital Stendal are entering into a long-term partnership. The aim is to secure and further develop medical care in the region, even in times of demographic and economic challenges.
Particular attention is being paid to the care of patients with acute coronary syndrome. By networking the two hospitals, patients are to be given faster access to emergency cardiac surgery. This will further improve medical quality - quickly, efficiently and in a patient-oriented manner.
“With this cooperation, we are laying the foundations for a future-proof healthcare structure in the region,” emphasizes Prof. Jens Wippermann, Director of the Clinic for Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery at Magdeburg University Hospital. “As a university medical center with a focus on research, teaching and patient care at the highest level, we are pooling our strengths with Johanniter Hospital Stendal to ensure top medical care for the people in the region.”
Johanniter Hospital Stendal also sees the partnership as a great opportunity. “As the largest acute and specialist hospital in northern Saxony-Anhalt, we will work together to streamline processes, leverage synergies and further improve the quality of treatment,” explains Dr. Michael Gross, Head Physician of the Clinic for Cardiology, Angiology, Hypertensiology and Rheumatology at Johanniter Hospital Stendal. “This benefits people in the region in particular.”
The networking of hospitals with different focuses of care is a central component of this agreement. The aim is to jointly identify and utilize potential for improving processes, resources and treatment paths. The partners are thus sending out a strong signal for the healthcare of the future - networked, efficient and patient-oriented. This consolidates an already established network that will sustainably strengthen healthcare in the region - for the people who depend on it.
